Andrea Bocelli – Passione

AB_PassioneHousehold name, Andrea Bocelli, is back to charm the world with Passione, an album produced and arranged by legendary hitman David Foster.

Released earlier this year, this is Andrea’s fourteenth studio album. It features romantic Mediterranean love songs, many of which are duets performed with the likes of Jennifer Lopez, Nelly Furtado and Grammy-nominated trumpeter Chris Botti.

Every track on this album is superb but what was most special for me is the virtual duet with the late French star and national popular singer Edith Piaf on her signature song, “La Vie en Rose” – a song that has become synonymous with the post-war years of 1945-1947.

The treatment of the song was exceptional, bringing together two great singers from across time and space, with Andrea’s tearful voice beautifully complemented by Edith’s soulful vocals.

The moving trumpet solo for Il Nostro Incontro also gives us another reason to celebrate this wonderful album. So, if you’re also a fan of Chris Botti, this Bocelli-Botti tag team is one you shouldn’t miss.

Overall, Passione is a really great album for easy listening, especially with the one you love over a romantic candlelight dinner.

I give Andrea Bocelli’s Passione album a 5 outta 5.
