Michael Buble – To Be Loved
With Michael Buble, everything seems frozen in time in the swinging 60s.
The broad way style of his music, the big bands and his crooning reminds us of the popular Frank Sinatra.
But Michael Buble is his own man.
And he scores big again with this 8th studio album To Be Loved where he covers popular tracks like To Love Somebody, Nevertheless (I’m in love with you) and gives these songs a whole new life again.
This 3-time grammy award winner also pairs up with Reese Witherspoon in performing the song Something Stupid a track that has been popularized by Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman back in 2001 but I like this version better because of the guitar fill-ins and tight harmony.
Somehow this Canadian crooner brings a certain freshness and lilt to this song that’s truly memorable.
This album also features 3 original songs that Michael co-wrote – Close Your Eyes, I Got It Easy and I especially love It’s A Beautiful Day because of its upbeat, light-footed rhythm that gets you going on the worst of Monday mornings.
And because it puts a smile on my face each time I hear it, I’m giving Michael Buble’s To Be Loved album a 4 outta 5.
